Becoming More Ourselves
A brand new poem for your Thursday & upcoming events
When we listen to what is true for us—when we honor the quiet nudge instead of overriding it—we don’t become more selfish. We become more ourselves.
— Rachel Macy Stafford
Hello friend,
In my Write Yourself Free classes this week, we talked about listening to those quiet nudges inside ourselves, saying yes and yes and yes to what we hear.
What a different world it could be if we make space to hush the noise and listen deeply, if more of us become more of ourselves.
The wise one inside of me feels deeply that it is becoming more and more critical that we listen inward and move from a space of wisdom, rather than from recycled reaction, fear, worn out conditioning.
Today’s poem speaks to this theme.
I am here feeling it all with you. Thank you (infinitely) for being here with me.
Julia 🦋
Hush
In a world of 8.3 billion, soundbites that boil blood, flood every cell– how do we hear the wordless, the wise? Not the reused and recycled, but the fresh, the new, the true. Might we hush the blast of noise and ask the trees, the chickadees to point us inward— let the bluebells, the fawn lily teach us how to become fluent in poetry— how to blossom in the shade of so much.
