Between Waves
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my Journal. Day #183 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Between Waves
One wave after another pummels me, gasping for breath, treading water in the shallows rather than diving deep. It's so scary to dive deep. So much can go wrong. I can't stop knowing this, can't stop fighting the current. But, just now, between waves, a soft voice whispers— Love, is there really any such thing as wrong? Lie back in the arms of the river, limbs limp, no holding on, notice how held, how carried you are, trust me, the river knows the way home.

"trust me, the river knows/the way home." Oh yes! Thank you for this beautiful poem, Julia. It feels like a life raft between the waves.
Beautiful poem! “notice how held,
how carried you are,” this felt so resonant - a needed reminder today 🙏thank you!
