Her Vow
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly daily, mostly unedited) writing practice
Jotting from my Journal. Day #209 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing.
Note: (I will now be posting MY (MOSTLY) DAILY WRITING only on weekdays, rather than 7 days/week)
Her Vow
After decades of too much suffering, or maybe just the right amount, she vows to hand it to the October sky, vows to stop abandoning herself to please another, vows to empty and keep emptying hands and heart of everything that never belonged there, to replace the running and numbing with daily I loves yous— vows to become more like the autumn leaves, more like the self she has always been.

"vows to empty and keep emptying
hands and heart of everything
that never belonged there"
I love this whole poem, but these words struck such a chord. Whew. Hand over my heart, thank you, Julia.
