Rudy
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly daily, mostly unedited) writing practice
Day #220 of writing/sharing.
Note: (I will now be posting MY (MOSTLY) DAILY WRITING on weekdays, rather than 7 days/week
Thank you, Rachel Macy Stafford. Your words always, always fall right into my heart. Thank you for placing those seeds in my mouth this morning when I was struggling. I appreciate & adore you way beyond words.
Rudy
This morning, when my heart felt sick and so very tired, I read a story about a bright red cardinal named Rudy who plucked a seed from my dear friend's feeder and gently placed it in the mouth of a small sparrow who was struggling to get food. I could attempt to write a poem about this moment of tender beauty, but I think this actual thing that actually happened is the poem. And anyway, isn't a picture worth a thousand words? One being feeding another, one opening to receive. Is there anything more important, more beautiful than this?

Oh yes, this is poetry. The tenderness of it brings me to tears.
An excellence. And yes, the event is the poem which we commemorate with our poems, our word-events!
