Seeking Refuge
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
The only refuge is reality—Tara Brach

Seeking Refuge
I unload the dishwasher, tuck t-shirts into drawers, brush the wiggly dog, wipe the countertops, make fresh nectar for my sweet hummingbirds—yes, I know they're not mine, but I love them so much they feel like mine. The fear, the worry, the anxiety, the grip of not-enough feels like too much today. I am scared of so many things. I remind myself again of her words— The only refuge is reality, and right then, right when I start to leave again, I bow to the crumbs, the laundry, the weight of too much— to what is. To what is.

Thank you for always pointing us home to the moment, Julia.
