“I think the best teachers are those who ask questions in which the only correct answer is, I don’t know.” — Andrea Gibson
For beautiful Andrea Gibson
The Best Teacher
I didn't know that today would be the day that one of my favorite poets would take their last breath, a poet who beamed their light into every dark corner, reminded us to try softer softer softer— the news of their death knocks the wind out of me, leaves me sobbing at my kitchen table, everything inside of me crying no no no. What to do next? I don't know. I do know that I will carry their words in the soft soil of my heart, let them remind me that I don't know is a really good answer— remind me that light beams never, ever stop beaming their light.

I am in awe of Andrea and always will be. I can only aspire.... what a beautiful "peaceful warrior"
I am also so deeply, deeply sad. I feel Andrea's presence also & what comfort in their words. We will always want more. I am changed & grateful to you Julia for introducing me.
Andrea, thank you for your words, passion, conviction, heart, joy, humor, humanness, talent, spoken performances, and continuing to be a presence.
I'm do glad there is a movie. Sticking up on Kleenex, can't wait for its release.
This news found me this morning, and I, too, stopped to weep. Their light will surely continue to shine, but damn. What a loss.
