Week 15, July 20th : How the Worst Day of My Life Became the Best, by the amazing Andrea Gibson
SUNDAY SPARK
Welcome to Week 15 of Sunday Spark!
In honor of the beloved poet, Andrea Gibson, all subscribers of my Substack page (both paid & free) are receiving today’s Sunday Spark. I hope you enjoy.
Please click on the below link/button to be taken to this week’s audio offering. But first, check out the “Kindling.” (Also below.)
If you feel called to get some ink on the page, be sure to read the writing practice guidelines (found when you click the below link) before you get your pen moving.
After you listen to today’s poem by beloved poet
, notice which lines most speak to you. You could also choose a single word from the poem, or begin writing from an image/memory to spark your writing…Suggested prompts for this week:
Sparked by Andrea’s poem, write about a time when you made the storm your medicine, or the storm became medicine all on its very own.
Enjoy. And thank you so much for being one of my people.
With an abundance of love & gratitude,
Julia xo
PS: Before you click on the “Week 15” link, please see below for this week’s “Kindling.”
This Week’s Kindling
“Together, we’ll keep looking for what doesn’t suck.
Together, we’ll keep finding the beauty in all of it.” —Megan Falley
For this week’s kindling, I have to point you to Megan Falley’s words. If this isn’t what love looks like, I don’t know what is.
For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with Meg, she was the wife of the beloved poet Andrea Gibson who so, so sadly died on July 14th. But, thankfully, is so very alive in all who loved this light beam of a human.
I, like millions and millions of others, am absolutely gutted by Andrea’s death. If you are one of those who loved them as much as I did (and still do), I hold out my hand to you.
My gosh, how Meg’s words brought needed comfort & stretched my heart. I had to point you to them.
Here’s to continuing to look for things that don’t suck.
On another note….
This is the last call to register for my upcoming Write Yourself Free series (for women).
This will be an intimate circle of women (limited to 15).

And now, a video invite from me... xo
Julia, I just wanted to tell you thank you for introducing me to Andrea Gibson. I did not know them or their work before you shared that they had died in your newsletter. Part of me is sad that I had not heard of them before and that I had missed out on this beautiful soul for so long, but the part of my heart that only knows how to be grateful is just that - grateful that now I am aware of all the music of their words left for all of us still on this physical plane to breathe in and make part of our story and to live the love they spoke of so eloquently. Thank you to you also for the words you put out into the world as well! Both you and Andrea are blessings in this world!
I don't really have words, other than thank you, Julia.
Thank you for honoring Andrea Gibson. Their light shines on.
