I'm with you, Julia. I've been writing every day for almost 33 years. Three years ago, I began writing a poem every day. I was inspired by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer (who has written a poem a day since 2006!) and follow her model--write it, share it. When I'm staring staring staring at the empty page, I reread her four promises:

1. I will write.

2. Writing doesn't have to be good, but it has to be true. What is the next true thing?

3. I cannot know the ending when I start! Put yourself in service to the poem. If you think you

know the ending, write right past it.

4. I will share it! (My additional words: yes, it's a raw draft. Yes, I will edit it repeatedly. That

doesn't matter. Share it anyway.)

Amrita, thank you so much for sharing! Rosemerry is one of my very favorite people/poets. Thank you for reminding me of her 4 promises. There are so good. And wow, 3 years of writing a poem a day is worth some serious celebration! That's amazing. I would love to hear more about what this journey has been like for you. Thank you again for leaving your thoughts/sharings here.
