Beneath the Fairy Lights
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Day #167 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Beneath the Fairy Lights
We sit beneath the pear trees and fairy lights, still-young dogs rolling, running, nipping at each other, half-moon and backyard campfire lighting each other's laughing faces. As if this isn't enough, we scoop one spoonful after another of still-warm berry cobbler into our mouths while we gush our love for summertime, fresh berries, good friends. I don't say it out loud, but everything in me crackles with contentment, saying silent prayers that this joy-filled summer evening might ripple outward and wrap its gentle arms around the whole wide world.

Day 12 Morning Writes. Thank you again Julia, for the invitation to share here. Excerpt:
"Depression is here.
Again.
I'm tired of having you as my teacher!
I want another teacher!
Boredom... or anything but you would do!
But here we are.
Gentle, gentle, gentle, Johnson.
Be gentle."
Oh Amen and amen! Still-warm berry cobbler! It's rippling. I feel it. I know it's rippling. It can't help but ripple, right? Blessings.xo
