Consider the Songbirds
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Consider the Songbirds
There is anxiety here as my pen hovers over the empty page, trying to steer when, really, I need only to listen for what is here, need only to trust the something that so faithfully guides my hand. No push to perform— just one true thing after one true thing. If you think one small thing doesn't make a difference consider the songbirds who wake each morning singing— imagine if we joined them.

"imagine if we joined them." Yes to this! Every time I write, I will think of the songbirds. I will join them. What could be more lovely? It is so special to see my photograph beside your beautiful words, Julia. This little Yellow Warbler was a drop of sunshine on a cloudy day.
