Cracked & Imperfect
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Day #54 of daily writing/sharing
Cracked & Imperfect
There is a crack, a crack in everything That's how the light gets in —Leonard Cohen If it doesn't have to be pretty or profound or perfect, maybe it can simply be true. And, what is true? The red flowering currant does not know how to try, yet, she fills us with such glorious color, rivers do not need a map, yet, they know just how to get to the sea— our sun never speaks a word, yet she gives life to everything— and, as the songwriter said, the cracks are how the light gets in. So, in case you need permission, please, just be the you that you are, simply speak what is true— let yourself be cracked and imperfect— it's how the light gets in.
