She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my journal…. Day #57 of daily writing/sharing
Enough
I'm tired tired tired of reaching for some secret solution— eat this way and you'll lose ten pounds fast, use this skincare and you will look ten years younger, write in just that way and you can finally call yourself a writer, pray this way and you'll go to heaven, that way and you'll burn forever in hell. No wonder we are all so damn tired. Enough. Let's keep it simple, shall we? Quiet the noise. Turn toward all that is whispering and warring inside. Be the very best friend to your wise heart. Let it whisper the way. Always. Ask: Does it feel like song? Like sky? Like a smile you can't hold back? Like love? Then, step that way. Listen, then step again.

Yesterday I got a postcard in the mail from a dear friend. The postcard bore the image of a cabin in the woods, hand-painted by my dear friend herself (watercolour). This felt like song, like inward joy. A respite from yesterday's difficult landings. A small spell of gratitude.
