Forever On Your Own Side
What if every single bit of you, especially the parts you dis, dismiss, try to discard—are essential. What if not a single bit of you is unnecessary. What then? Might you smile at yourself in the mirror, say I love you with your hand on your heart, vow to be forever on your own side— might you be a holy warrior for your own heart, your own art? To have, to hold, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health— from this day forward. Might you place an invisible ring on your own fading finger and forever declare— I do. I do. I do.
