Holy Wonder
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my journal…. Day #49 of daily writing/sharing
Holy Wonder
I stand in the wet grass, head lifted to the new-day sky, full cup of creamy-sweet coffee in hand, and marvel at the shapes of the clouds, the light the light the light coming through— a fat bumblebee dips into and out of the Oregon Grape, cherry tree blossoms beauty all over the place, daffodils a congregation of yellow— jaw-dropping, holy wonder. And then a hummingbird hovers inches from my face, zips zips above me and poops in my hair. My husband says it's good luck when a bird poops in your hair, which makes me smile—all of this and luck too, my cup spills and spills and spills.
