Invitation
Let us dare to be too much, over the top, gushing with amazement as the sun peeks through the dark— God, it's beautiful! Let us not apologize for exclamation marks or pausing in the middle of a moment to stare at the willow tree swaying to the rhythm of today’s winter wind, to marvel at the dew drops hanging from the tips of branches. Let us stare at these aging hands with gratitude for how much they've carried—babies bowls of homemade soup, broken and beautiful things, and things that were never ours to carry— how far the've traveled, how hard they've worked and loved and dropped and held. Let us bow to the littered paths that always lead to right here. Here. It's my favorite word. The only word we ever need, really.
