She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Special Note: I am heading to the river for a weekend kayak/canoe trip with family/friends, so I will be taking a short break. My daily sharings will continue on Monday, July 7th. xo
Day #143 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
It Matters
Just when I question whether one being can really make a difference, the birds start their morning singing, first the solo, then the duet, then a whole sacred symphony of song— I close my eyes and listen listen listen, as though life depends on the listening, to be a thing of beauty in a world gone mad— the warm smile, the splash of paint on canvas, the strum of the guitar that wakes every cell, the kind word to the man who just lost his wife, the phone call, the donation, the meal to the neighbor, the playful wink, the note of appreciation, the rescued dog, the prayer, the line of poetry, the nectar mixed for the hungry birds, the flowers watered, the hand held out, the singing, the listening— it matters it matters it matters— it matters so much.
