Lesson from the Wildflowers

Lesson from the Wildflowers
So many rules, so many
opinions on how to do it right,
how to do it wrong—
so much nagging noise.
Aren't we all dizzy and dying
from listening
to the voices of others?
Meanwhile, the wildflowers
simply blossom, splashing
the mountain meadow with marvel
without following
a single rule.
I stand in the midst
of their magnificence,
palms together, head bent—
steeping myself in
their wildness, gathering
up their color
and splashing it here, watching
as it bleeds all over
the once-blank page.

thank you, thank you, thank you... 💚 💚 💚
"splashing/the mountain meadow with marvel." What an absolutely exquisite picture this poem splashes across my heart! I love when you say "I stand in the midst/of their magnificence," and then the way you describe this magnificence...oh my goodness. I can imagine this scene so vividly inside every cell in my body.
