To your brave release! 🔥

Congratulations! It takes courage and love to shed those skins kept locked up in our journals, in the layers of life through which we have evolved.

I particularly like: "Mostly, I cringed at how I was churning over the same bullshit things in my teens as I am today in my 50s. Mostly, I perceived the writing as blah blah blah. And more blah."

I have had this same experience. I have kept a diary/journal since I was 15yrs old and at various points I said; I have to burn these as I don't want to re-read them and I certainly don't want anyone else rereading them!

Phew, what a relief to see them turn to ashes. Now, everytime I start a new notebook I say to myself, please don't repeat all the same old bullshit - of course I do, but perhaps a little less or a little differently as we learn and grow.

“what a relief to see them turn to ashes,” I couldn’t agree more! Thank you so much for taking the time to connect here, dear @Anna .

I applaud you, Julia. In order to grow, we have to prune, replant, pick through, fluff, pat down, and sometimes burn. Congratulations in more ways than one. I hope to purchase your book before the event so I can be there to celebrate with you. ❤️👏🏽🎉🥰

Thanks so much, dear @Darlene. If, for any reason, you’re unable to purchase my book before the event, let me know and I will send along the Zoom link. It wouldn’t be the same without you there. xo

Thank you Julia 😊

I wish those same 'things' were as easy to turn to ashes as the journals are. Wonderfully written, Julia! 💞

Thank you for this post, Julia, and for sharing your flames—the ones that burn and the ones that glow. I have stacks of journals, all more recent, and I've been hesitant to let them go. You've inspired me to make space for whatever new wants to come in. By the way, I think we had the same dad and similar boxes of shame.

@Ellen Rowland, I so appreciate you and your words to me here. Thank you.

By the way, I think we had the same dad and similar boxes of shame.

I bet you & I would have a whole lot to talk about, Ellen. So interesting (and not too surprising) that we may have had the same dad.

I am sending you warm hugs, my friend. 🦋

Powerful medicine Julia. Thank you for sharing this with us. There is something cathartic and necessary in doing this, detaching, letting go, burning even. Transformation before our very eyes. I bow to you.

“Transformation before our very eyes.” Yes, that is exactly it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment here, @Nancy Rao . It is deeply appreciated. ✨
