She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my journal. Day #166 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Letting It All Stay
What if, rather than trying to get rid of what refuses to let go of me, I let it stay? Gather kindling, firewood, strike a match, invite it all to gather around the fire— come now, I will say, let us sit together and breathe. Tell me everything. I promise, I will make space for every flicker, every flame. I promise— I will name it all love.

Day 11, Jill's Morning Writes, excerpt:
'A piece of paper has a cloud floating in it.' -Thich Nhat Hanh.
So what does my depression have floating in it? Humanity. That's baloney. No, it's true. It connects you more deeply to others. It helps you be more human, be a member of this human race that deals with depression and the darkness. Not quite like having a cloud in it, but it's something. Something important and lifegiving. Thank you depression. If you must, continue to teach me.
"Tell me everything. I promise, I will make space for every flicker, every flame.
I promise— I will name it all love."
So good. The unconditionality of it. Thank you. x
