'A piece of paper has a cloud floating in it.' -Thich Nhat Hanh.
So what does my depression have floating in it? Humanity. That's baloney. No, it's true. It connects you more deeply to others. It helps you be more human, be a member of this human race that deals with depression and the darkness. Not quite like having a cloud in it, but it's something. Something important and lifegiving. Thank you depression. If you must, continue to teach me.
“It connects you more deeply to others” - yes, Jill. I think the darkness can bring softness and compassion for ourselves and others. Perspective. Openness. A portal, really. Sending so much love to all of your parts. xo

I love this, thinking of it as a portal. Thank you for offering that.
"Tell me everything. I promise, I will make space for every flicker, every flame.
I promise— I will name it all love."
So good. The unconditionality of it. Thank you. x
