I cherish the highlighting of the doubleness, the two meanings of "mind" --- as in the mental mechanism, and as in what we're preoccupied by --- what we "mind" in the sense opposite to "I don't mind." And how the mind hushes, at least for a few meandering moments, and becomes "mend."

It is a lovely poem, Julia, and it is a joy to be reading a new poem from you daily.

This poem, and especially those last two stanzas....whew.

"when what matters most/is sipping the nectar /from this already-mended moment."

These words went straight to my weary heart. "this already-mended moment." Gosh this phrase just bring tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for your poetry, Julia. It is a gift. Every poem is a gift.
