She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my journal. Day #94 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Message from Last Night’s Dream
Only the moment tells the truth.
Not the last moment, not the next
moment, but this
one,
the one when the orange tulips still grace
the ceramic vase she shaped
with her own two hands—
please, I pray
let me not miss
their blooming.
This breathing moment when the scent
of freshly mowed grass breezes in
through the open kitchen window—
please, come here. Let me hold you
for longer than I need to,
and longer still.
Show me that it is all
okay, even when
it's not.

"Only the moment tells the truth." I cannot stop thinking about this line, Julia. I am so glad you followed it to the poem it wanted to reveal. There is so much tenderness here, in what is true. Here, in this moment. Thank you, my friend. I am deeply grateful for your words.
