She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Day #113 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Monday Miracles
Two mourning doves nibble the fallen seed next to the jasmine, a pair of goldfinch munch at the feeders above, the pink peonies grace the kitchen table by being the flowers only they can be. She sits and sips Moroccan mint tea with just the right amount of honey to soothe her sore, sore throat. Miracle after miracle, after miracle. Each thing so perfectly itself. I could bow my gratitude forever and still in would not be enough. Oh, sweet tenderness, let me never forget you.

"Oh, sweet tenderness,
let me never
forget you."
Mmmm, yes to this. Thank you for this tender poem, Julia.
It is so satisfying to hear the names. The mourning doves. Jasmine, goldfinch, peony. Moroccan mint tea. I am enchanted by the specificity! (Being a city boy who's lucky if he knows a hydrangea from a hat-rack.)
