More Like River
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my journal. Day #68 of daily writing/sharing
More Like River
I have forgotten again. So, I come here to the page to remember. The page is my memory, my cheerleader, my playground, my deep breath, my open sky, my deepest listener, my alter, my gentle guide. And what do I want to remember? To stop wrestling with what is. To stop trying to keep the ground from shaking, to come back (again and again and again) to what is real— the smile on my daughters' face, the juicy sweetness of the perfectly ripe honey mango— I want to remember to be more like river, more like sky.

Yes. I, too, "want to remember/to be more like river,/more like sky."
