Ordinary Grace
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Day #112 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Ordinary Grace
The way the sky holds the bald eagle, the great blue heron, the sparrow, the vulture, the clouds, the storm, and the sun too. No thing excluded, nothing left out. No thing ever left out. The way the neighbor encourages us to keep our cat inside because hers did not come home last night, or the night before, or the night before that. The way my husband still calls me sweetheart after all these years, even when I am more sour than sweet. The way the page lets me set it all down, lets me rant and rage—never rejects a single word, all of it allowed. All of it allowed. The way the rooted ones offer shade from the heat, shelter from the downpour, wood to make the table, fuel for the fire, fire that warms hands, all hands— no one excluded, no one left out. No one ever left out.
