Somewhere Close
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Day #144 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
Somewhere Close
I almost didn't stop long enough to read the poet's words— too busy too busy gotta get it done, the mind a wild swirl of grumbling, worries, complaints, but then, there they were, the words that brought me back, sang me awake, sprinkled sunshine in my hair— words that said something about happiness waiting under a leaf, always somewhere close. Thank you, poets, for bringing me back. How much more happiness there would be if I stepped away from the swirl, trusted that it is always, always somewhere close.
