The Medicine
She Will Not Be Quiet: A (mostly unedited) daily writing practice
Jotting from my journal…. Day #48 of daily writing/sharing
The Medicine
The medicine is letting each thing be as each thing is, standing inside a Tuesday morning spreading butter on toasted bread, a few sprinkles of cinnamon because cinnamon makes you feel loved. Return again and again when you wander. The medicine is scooting in close to the sadness, the longing, the wandering too. Meet each thing with only tenderness. Give up needing to know what anything means. Make space inside yourself to hold this and that, hold you own face with your own two hands. Notice when you have left yourself and return again and again forever. The jasmine is blossoming—the scent of new love finds me through the open window. Stand still, land. Breathe yourself back to life.

This. Oh my goodness, this continual homecoming. You have captured it so beautifully, Julia.
Reading this felt like a loving exhale. Thank you, Julia!
