The Poem That Did Not Get Written
The poem didn't get written because the plane was delayed and delayed again, the connecting flight missed, because the hustle and hurry and long lines of cranky people emptied and emptied the river. And, there were arguments and more arguments—with self with others, with life. And many, many unanswered questions. And tears. And the path has disappeared again. And it's getting late. And dark. And the tired is the too-tired kind of tired. And because it's especially hard to be a human right now. Because sometimes everything runs dry and the river forgets how to be a river.
