Too Beautiful to Miss
She absentmindedly pours the coffee, as if pouring the coffee isn't the most important thing, steps out the front door, forgetting to notice the moment when feet meet the welcome mat, forgets to notice the cool May breeze, the song of the wind chimes. As she sits on the front porch and takes that first sip, she is already on her way to the next, next thing. Stop. Says everything. Come here to where the honeybee drinks from the lavender, to where the still-young pup rolls in the still-green grass. Everything is on its way to gone. Or perhaps, on its way to being something else. I don't know. It's all too beautiful to miss. Come here. Come here now.

Oh my goodness, these lines:
"Everything is on its way to gone.
Or perhaps,
on its way to being
something else. I don't know.
It's all too beautiful to miss.
Come here.
Come here now. "
Yes to EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. OF. THIS. Julia, I have tears in my eyes. These lines feel so deeply, deeply important. It truly is too beautiful to miss.
