Day #159 of (mostly unedited) daily writing/sharing
A Poem-less Summer Evening
The house is quiet on this summer evening, dogs bark outside the open window, heart hums to the beat of something that cannot be seen. I ask the poet if they will send me some words— only silence. The words are lost somewhere and I cannot find the shovel to dig them out— I'm too tired to dig anything out. Dear poet, some days the poem rests inside the silence. Lie down now. The silence is speaking.
